Our Five Favorite Short Films: Honorable Mentions

Not on our definitive Five Favorites, but these shorts are definitely worth checking out whether due to their own online buzz, my personal like (even if they're not on the top list) or from our Facebook Page recommendations.

Honorable Mentions:

Panic Attack
Something we were watching the other week. What started as a music video for the band SNAKE became a viral sensation when the cock rock was replaced with the Mars Attacks! strings and East Hastings. Aside from proving the right music makes even the campiest B-Movie scene into a harrowing vision, it got director/animator Federico Alvarez the attention of Sam Raimi.

Dead and Lonely
An IFC web-series directed by Ti West that combined dating neurosis, a haunting bass soundtrack and the proof that Los Angeles is a lonely place. Except if you're a vampire.
---

The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficent Weapon
Technically a trailer for a film that's even longer, but Richard Gale's short is worth it. Think if Sam Raimi felt REALLY sadistic about the audience when he was making Drag Me To Hell.
