Mini Trailer Time: The [INSERT MARTIAL ARTS HERE] Kid trailer
While certainly not as horrendous as one would expect, the trailer for The Kung-Fu Kid The Karate Kid does wonders for advancing the idea of alienation and persecution from the original.
This time, instead of being from Jersey, he's from America. Instead of California, he goes to China. Which makes loads of sense when young Jaden Smith runs afoul of the local Evil Kung-Fu Squad who terrorize him until Jackie Chan arrives to make amends for The Forbidden Kingdom.
But at least it's...well. I guess in context, they pretty much have the same trailer. Just swap out pounding bass for pounding synth:
