Thursday's Important News: Polanski Returns: The Sequel-ing, Why Spider-Man 4 Isn't Working and Why Brian Bendis Wants It That Way

Sometimes I wonder if there'll be a day when I can no longer think up something witty before following it up with, "so here's some news."
Thankfully, that isn't today. Now here's some news.

  • -Roman Polanski wishes to be charged for the 1977 rape in absentia. Meanwhile, a mysterious witness is being touted by the prosecution whose time is becoming "less readily avaliable." Could it be the patience of the judicial system? [NYT]

  • -Organic webs as ejaculation jokes? Terrorist musicals? Walkin' on Sunshine?! Is this why Spider-Man 4 is dead?! [Movieline]

  • -Psst. That last link's got a tongue in the cheek.

  • -Brian Bendis, meanwhile, wants a crack at Spider-Man 4's script. His idea? 3D. ULTIMATE 3D. [Bleeding Cool]

  • -Saoirse Ronan, Joe Wright and the Bourne Identity meets a 14-year old? Sure. [The Playlist]

  • -In a bit of old fashioned studio finger pointing, The Playlist reported there are two cuts of The Wolfman floating around--one from director Joe Johnston, the other from Donna Langely, Production President of Universal Pictures. But Mr. Beaks speaks with producer Scott Stuber who claims The Playlist is incredibly wrong, nothing to see here, etc. [AICN]

  • -To briefly interject: the problem with the above story is that it isn't impossible to see both pieces as having a bit of truth to them. After all, Wolfman has been plagued for nearly two years now by director changes, shooting and lag. While Mr. Beaks does get to a source, The Playlist crew have an uncanny way of digging up a truth.

  • -Oh yeah, Direct TV's gonna bring 3D up in this bitch. And by bitch, I mean your television. [PR]

  • -This video will amuse you. [Team Four Star]
