Mini Trailer Time: "The Karate Kid", Again.
Normally, I'm the first person to stand on my tiny hind legs and cackle like a hynea about how idiotic something looks. Yet when it comes to The Karate Kid remake, these trailers joyfully keep my nostalgia goggles firmly in place, if not even tighter. What's that mean? Check the second trailer.
Of course, "take off your jacket it. Put it back on" will be the new take on "wax on, wax off." There's something about late-period Jackie Chan being allowed to act as a grizzled mentor that's appealing, even in the wake of trite "fish out of water moments" like Jaden Smith speaking Chinese, only to have the guy next to him utter, "Dude. I'm from Detroit."
