I liked how this event included the Rock in all aspects of the show... from the theme of "redemption" in the art gallery, to using the mess hall for the bar, and incorporating the tourist attraction into the runway show.
Definitely a well-edited pod. Liked the contrasting shots of the prison during the day and then how it was transformed that night. Using different music when featuring the different aspects of the party (cars, fashion show, art gallery, performances, etc) was a good technique and helped the pacing of this pod.

If you're stoned and don't feel like reading you can watch this trippy video about turning Alcatraz into a center for peace.

hey all this event was a great IDEA! But it had nothing to do with Scion except the fact they paid for it ..
and i say this due to the fact that as i made my way through the event and tried to mingle with all the people there only about 10% of them where SCION owners and to add insult to injury it was an invite only event and ALOT of scion supporters and ownres where LEFT AT THE DOCK ! ..... SO ! i LOVE MY SCION AND THE COMPANY AND I BEND OVER BACKWARDS TO GIVE BACK WHAT THEY HAVE GIVEN ME but c''mon i asked a ton of folks " what scion do you drive " an 90 % answered "whats a SCION? " once again i LOVE you SCION
but what moved THAT !! ?? - 4 years ago

I was very disappointed this year with Expression as I heard so many good things about it last year. Being this was my first Expression Party put on by Scion Corporation I thought it was geared too much to the NON-Scion owners (aka the raver crowd and those who didn''t even know why the party was even done). There was no food, they ran out of drinks early and it was so crowded to see the entertainment; I left early just to get something to eat. The cars were hot as always, but most of the people didn''t even know why the cars were there. Thank you to Scion Corp but I am really debating if I want to attend another Expression Party especially after this one.

Question for ya!!! What''s the point of having this thread if you are going to keep deleting what people post?? A few posts have been removed only because someone that participated in the event and was at the show is speaking about there views of it.....and there post wasn''t even negative.......

The party was cool but it should have been more about the Scion Lifestyle not the raver party scene.

It was cool to be on the rock but this wasn''t the right place to hold expression....This was all about the celebrities, academy arts, and everything non Scion related. For as much as Scion contributed to the event, it was not about the cars or the enthusiasts the support the true Scion culture.................what moves you?????

I thought the event was cool as hell. Yes, I did have dinner before I came, because I was not expecting to be feed, and I did not think that I would be served alcohol, because I know Alcatraz is federal property. I expected to get a new experience and that is exactly what I got. Everything from the art gallery, to the fashion show (with real designers and models not knock offs) , hospital show and rangers spittin history exceeded my expectations.
I can promise you this none of my friends have every partied on Alcatraz., or experienced what I did that night. They have only done the typical tour that everyone else takes, but I know this was a once in a lifetime event. I can party in a club or warehouse anytime, but this had to cost Scion corp some serious $ to pull off.
In reading some of the other comments, and I just don''t understand. I knew that the event was sponsored by Scion, and saw some cool cars. Based on the cars I saw at the event I even checked out the website and have purchased a new xB. Its seems like people wanted to see more cars there, but I can go to HIN for that. I''m glad they did not OVERLOAD me with cars everywhere because it would have taken away from the event.
I''m just your average Gen Y guy, but I want to give props, were props are due, and I don''t know of anyone who has done this before. Thanks Scion for once again setting a new bar and I look forward to next years Exprescion event and also look forward to Scion Night. I''m out

This event was supposed to be Focused around the owners, and the Scions they tricked out. Without these owners that tricked out their Scions where would Scion be right now. The event was cool to be on the ROCK but their was more NON-Scion owners on the ROCK than Actual Scion owners. Which was very bad. Many Scion owners were looking forward to this for a whole year and got Screwed because they didn''t even get on the ROCK.. MY 2 Cents.

What I love about it is all the contrasts, with Alcatraz as the backdrop, which I see as the existential prison we live in. How wonderful it is to fill that prison with such a dynamic experience/celebration.
As I have special affinity for Native Americans, like they are my spirit family, I especially love the Native American element, how they escaped society by reclaiming their land there in the 70s. I found the video very nourishing

Read about the event, who was there, and what designers and artists showed their stuff on the runway.
