My friend's big sound camp has brought in "name" dj's for years now...not sure if anyone knows or not but I'm sure people in the scene know. Her brother Syd Gris is a local dj, and she once gave me a cd of one of his burning man sets. I cherished it until it disappeared :(

I dont think i've ever had any idea who i was listening to anywhere on the playa before. Kind of cool actually -- like... no corporate sponsorship and no dj brand awareness. It's all about the music maaaaaan!
