My former business partner and best friend of 20 years - Alan Calzatti, was the DP of this amazingly gorgeous documentary on Sigur Ros. I got a sneak peak of the actual HD master when I was in L.A. a few weeks ago and it was truly stunning. The piece was shot entirely in HD in their homeland (Heima) of Iceland. Alan is one of those hidden talents that so few people know about, and hopefully this will help him to gain the recognition he truly deserves.
Interestingly enough, Alan partnered up with the Director of "Heima", Dean DeBlois, to helm this project. Dean was formerly our star film student when Alan and I founded the first music video filmschool - MVCI, back in 2002. We sold the school to the Musician's Institute in Hollywood in 2005 and Alan still runs the program to this day.
