Iceland Airwaves Music Festival

Whats up people

I am currently in Iceland, for the Iceland Airwaves Music Festival... i will be posting pics and videos during my trip...

I'm super excited, the festival starts on Wed, and the city of Reykjavik is already buzzing...

The weather here is cooolllldd, freezing, the wind chill makes it worse..
but the scenery and environment is beautiful..

keep checking back for updates... and if you have know of a band performing here that you think is worth checking out, definitely let me know

    • Man, it has been a crazy week out here in Reykjavik...

      staying out till 7am every night has been rough lol
      bars and clubs are open till 6am
      but it was definitely worth it...

      great music and sights.... and lots of crazy stuff...

      check out the video blog for a little more action...

      here are some highlights:

      bloc party had a crazy show... chromeo was dope... and most icelandic bands i have seen have been great... with only 300,000 people in this country, its amazing how there is so much untapped talent here..

      also sort of saw the john lennon tribute light tower... but the sail boat i was on, had some technical difficulties, so we didn't make it to the island... did get some cool photos though, will post soon

      flying back to the states tomorrow with a plane load of footage, so stay tuned....

    • Here is a little montage of whats been going on...

      some highlights so far have been...

      the venues: from small to large, the venues are great over here... the Reykjavik art museum is where all the headliners are performing, and Nasa is also a cool spot...

      the smaller clubs, like Organ and Gaukirinn are where you can get a more intimate vibe
      they even have performances in record shops and boutique clothing stores in the early evening...

      icelandic hip hop, checking out the scene, and even chillin with one of the artists at their apartment

      audio improvement is an icelandic band i interviewed, 7 players 2 girls, 5 guys, live instrumentation, and a rapper.. pretty interesting

      The Ghost was also interesting, they are electro pop dance, 2 dudes, from the Faroese Islands...

      also checked out Late of the pier from the UK, interviewed them, realy cool guys

      and got a chance to interview an icelandic band called Retro Stefson, 8 people in the band, and they have a cool jazz pop and folk vibe...

      stay tuned as the bigger bands are set to play tonite and saturday...

      looking forward to Chromeo, GUs Gus, Deerhoof, Forgotten Lores, and Bloc Party.... and much more
