refugeeHood: the inheritance

ppitcha
The Palestinian people are the only people who can inherit the status of refugee. This word has been passed down now for 60 years. But what does it mean to the Palestinian youth of 2007? How do they represent their identities? And what are there hopes for the future? This film seeks to provide a small glimpse into their world and the realities on the ground in the Dheisheh refugee camp. All the youth in this film are members of the Ibdaa Cultural Center, a grassroots community organization in the Dheisheh refugee camp, West Bank, Palestine that provides services to over 1500 youth, women and families in the camp including dance, health, sports and media training.

This film was created and filmed by two volunteers living in the Dheisheh refugee camp for the last 6 months, working directly with all the youth in the film. It gives an inside look into their lives and worlds.
