James Ravilious, 1939-1999, created one of the strongest and most revealing collections of English documentary photographs. He moved to North Devon and for 20 years, in a small area, connected to the local rural people and their work. He lived among the people and respected them. Here are some of the last examples of traditional English country life, in timeless landscapes.
