The suit in charge of streamlining the major label has uncovered expenses such as a £20,000-a-month bill for candles, and £200,000 yearly budget for 'fruit and flowers'. Insiders have pointed out that this is an industry shorthand for, ahem, 'party requirements'. Following Radiohead's move from EMI recently, Robbie Williams has gone on strike, refusing to deliver his new album to the company, and 1000 jobs are said to be on the line.
