Machu Picchu and The Sacred Valley: Part One

SeaJade
A short introduction to the Sacred Places and mythology of this region of the Andes Mountains. The ancient petroglyph - the universal spiral, the jungle waterfall - where veils between worlds are often thin, crossing over through gushing fountains of life seeing easily the paradox of Pan and the Cathedrals - the three doorways of consciousness, discovery, returning to the ancient spirit of the Puma - guardian to Machu Picchu - a place that feels like heaven on earth and is home to the Condor - the carrier of souls to the "other world".

Original music composed and performed by Shenkar (the voice of "Heroes") and Michael Perfitt with photography by Caroline Davies.

    • Caroline, you have done it yet again...I feel the magic of these most sacred places, but especially Machu Picchu, filling my soul...

It is believed that the native peoples of the land, during the time of the great flood, took refuge here until such time as the water receeded...It is my belief that the remains as you see them, are only a small part of the actual structures and forms that existed during those times...I feel a great sense of the esoteric and the lives of those spiritual people...

    • Caroline Davies photographs capture a rare confluence of awesome geology and sacred indigenous culture. The music induces a gentle trance which allows us to experience inspiration that opens our hearts. This montage offers a brief but deep journey into Spirit. For me, it's a healing, soothing respite.

    • I have been a fan of Caroline Davies for many years. Her photographs truly capture the invisible spirit of a location. She can transport you with her brilliant use of light and space. People respond to her respectful attitude and thus she gets the shots that no one else can. Her work is amazing.
