Are Elton and Hillary breakin' the law?

According to reports, the FEC is looking into whether Elton John performing at the event could be interpreted as 'foreign intervention' within the Clinton campaign.
In 1966 the FEC initiated the Foreign Agents Registration Act which was intended: "to 'minimize foreign intervention' in U.S. elections by establishing a series of limitations on foreign nationals." An act which was then incorporated into the 1974 FECA (Federal Election Campaign Act) which "prohibits any foreign national from contributing, donating or spending funds in connection with any federal, state, or local election in the United States"
So, do you think that having Elton John playing at the 'One Night Only' gig falls under the FECA's ruling, or do you just think that all the candidates should be allowed to pick their own music star and then have one big party? If it's the latter, requests below.

No.......the small stuff is ok. If these boinks can't handle the small stuff, how am I suppose to feel secure in their ability to handle the big stuff?
I like the comment that they are ALSO getting this stuff out of the way, dealing with each other, so the bad guys won't be hitting them over the head every night in the msm till election day.
I also wonder about people wringing their hands and complaining about having to wait till the big convention before we confirm everybodies credentials. So, what do we HAVE these conventions for, a coronation? That is what these conventions are for; to solve all these pesky democracy problems.

From The Washington/Moonie Times? It figures. I love Elton John's music. A non issue to me no matter who the candidate is. I even believe Elton John played for Al Gore when he ran. So what's the big deal? Can't the media find any real issues to write about?

not that his endorsement will matter anyway.
if she (Hilary) had half the class he (Sir Elton) does, she would have left the race weeks ago instead of kneecapping the entire Dem. ticket so she can bid again in 2012.
weak.

hmm so hypothetically, if the show were free, would the music count as a contribution?

I'm an Elton John fan but he is not an American and I would consider this interference. But, I agree with Woody - we need to get to the important things and not all this bull.

The gig hasn't even taken place and it's already a biased (perhaps cheeky) PR stunt

Anyone as tired as I am with everyone trying to search for something wrong with every candidate lately? I mean from Clinton, to Barack with the pastor, to McCain with the war and mortgage crisis; this is truly taking away from what's really important; the leader of this country being elected to do whats right for our country; no matter who it is!
Until then, check out this Current thread about the show with Elton in support of Hillary!
