Italian researchers have suggested that listening to music on a daily basis can considerably reduce ambulatory blood pressure (ABP).

According to a study presented at the American Society of Hypertension meeting in New Orleans, listening to classical, Celtic or Indian music for 30 minutes a day for one month is an effective method for reducing blood pressure in individuals with mild hypertension.

    • My goal is to someday make instrumental music that channels good energy to cure cancer.

I'm working on trying to make a record dedicated to a man who may have cancer.

I strongly believe that "good energy" can heal.

    • People should not confuse on listing music in an environment where you are not abusing others with your personal musical selection with other types of situations where one is holding other ones hostage of their acoustic actions. Remember that: "What is music to you can be a different thing to others depending of place and time." Therefore folks, use your ear phones in a mild volume and have fun safely!

    • I tried this. I got bored. I will stick to Christian hardrock and metal... and some Regina Spektor along the way. I guess I could fit in CrisBrown sometime as well.

    • I would rather be blind then deaf if i ever was forced to choose. I prefer ambient music myself because i feel it allows me to think of anything or nothing at all depending on my current emotional state. Coil is my favorite ambient group.

    • That awesome! They say a cat can help lower blood pressure as well. So can Cheerios... So if you have high blood pressure, start listening to some Celtic Woman and Enya, buy a cat and eat some Honey Nut Cheerios! :-D

    • you will never feel more passionate about wishing that Jesus would never have died in the first place than after you've had the unique experience of listening to a few dozen strait-edge "x-an metal" bands , and vomiting at the utter banality of the entire genre.

    • I'm constantly listening to all different types of music throughout the day as well...no wonder I get a bit tense when I haven't done so in a while. I can practically feel my brain rippling when listening to good music.

More of the brain is active while listening to music than doing just about anything else, I think...

    • Music has always been my main source of stress release. It has mood altering properties without giving me the munchies.
