My name is Tania Smith and I am the lead singer and keyboard player for the band SpaceJunky.
I have a jewelry company called Crystal Gypsy Designs and specialize in Old Tibetan Amulets which I make into 1-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. These necklaces are then energized with reiki and are sold in an art gallery in Sedona, AZ. While I was in Tibet researching these amulets and the Tibetan culture I had a mystical experience in the Potala Palace which lead to the production of this video.
In the Potala Palace we came to a room with hundreds of candles outside. I thought this reminds me of the line in the song "Temple Of Love" that we had written..."inside these walls a thousand candles have burned in promise of your return". Our guide Ken then said "this is called the room of a thousand buddhas, and was also the room of the 6th Dalai Lama, who wrote songs that the Tibetans still sing to this day".
I told our guide about the song and sang it to him and as the notes echoed through the room everything seemed magical. Then our translator came up and said the monks had been watching us and wanted to know what I was singing. I told her and she went back and translated to them as they couldn't speak English and then told us that they wanted to give us the blessing of the 6th Dalai Lama's hat!
They asked us to bow as 4 of them place this giant yellow hat on our heads and said some prayers. It was an amazing experience and this was when we realised that the song was about the Dalai Lama's return to Tibet and the Tibetan peoples message of love to the world.
Only when we edited the video did we notice that some footage of the Gyuto monks in the entrance of their temple are actually semi transparent, meaning that you can see the outline of one monk through another one as they walk in front of each other. It's quite amazing and you can see it as well in the opening shots of the video. It's much clearer on the high resolution DVD than on the web version. Film and video experts have seen this and have no explanation.
May All Enter The Temple Of Love

I just can't understand why there's so much conflict and bloodshed against such a loving, purposeful existence. What is wrong with the world? How does killing or monopolizing the infinite make any kind of sense? Perhaps I'm wired wrong, but it seems to me that a people who are free to love, seek enlightenment and live their true purpose become content in their lives. Happy people are contagious...happy people, make happy families, communities, citizens, countries......
I just don't get it.
But I do get this video and it's message. Thanks for the warm fuzzies, Spacejunky. I think I'll go forth and spread a little joy today. - 3 years ago

Tibet is home of spirituality and some of the worlds amazing people and we need to keep Tibet alive and safe for them to live, like we can do freely in our country and they should in theres. l hope that they will one day be able to have freedom and be safe again and continue safely on there journeys. A touchin beatiful video and should be rated at the top of the charts, Humanity is important and so is freedom, *lights a candle for Tibet*

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even the Chinese government, who call the Dalai Lama a "warmongerer." And the Nobel Committee, who call the Dalai Lama Peace Prize Laureate.
Even if I did not know Tania, I would still love this song, still believe in its message, still imagine a day when His Holiness can once return to his homeland.
Hosting the Olympics will not in itself bring an end to the repression of Tibet, but perhaps a little extra scrutiny will mark the start. Namaste
