Ominous rumours that one of the stages at Bestival was 'going to sink into the ground' have materialized with the cancellation of the BBC Introducing stage. It was set to host Black Kids, Sam Sparro and the brilliant Lykke Li, but languished in the mud as 'ridiculous winds' lashed festival goers from pillar to beer tent.

It was an absolute blinder - the tribe i went down with we're swimming in mud for 4 days but the sheer excellence of every musician made up for mudbath.
