The event, co-hosted, amongst others, by Dreamworks partners Steven Spielberg will be held in LA on September 16 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
The 700 seats are expected fetch at least $2,500.
I hope you get a party bag if seats cost that much...

Maybe the fools crapping all over this one would rather see mcCain have a larger arsenal of funds to spread more propaganda to defeat Obama.
Hollywood celebrities are excellent resources for intelligent allies and powerfull endorsements...God Bless Oprah. I bet all of you crappers have enjoyed many of the films and shows made possible by these "elitists".
Being poor, jealous, and resentfull of talent and wealth does not make you more of an American...it makes you a critical small minded hypocrite.
Thank goodness for celebrities to sponsor a fundraiser like this, at least Obama is not on the payroll of Monsanto, Exxon, Haliburton and Big Tobacco, Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Polluters, etc.
Hey I'm happy the creators of Luke Skywalker and Yoda are funding Obama. At least they won't be back to dictate and profit like the vipers funding the McBush campaigns and creating oil wars for profit.
The right wing Evangelicals funding McCain and Palin would certainly collect their due if GOD FORBID... you know what. Would the crappers here rather their kids all be indoctrinated into fanatic religious zealotry in school....
I'll take Speilberg, Oprah and Funny Girl any time for my President's supporters. What could they possibly want from Washington, they have it already. Those of you who can't handle that, well you can always find someone to crap on.
Many celebrities pulled themselves up from humble backgrounds (like Obama) and made it to the big leagues on sweat, hard work, talent and smarts (also like Obama). These "elitists" are Americans who do more for charities, than the small minded prejudiced crappers who frequent these responses, with petty whining that lacks even a trace of admirable quality.

Why not raise money for Barack? According to the article, "Streisand initially supported Hillary Clinton in the Democratic campaign, but got behind Obama when he became the candidate for President.
She has historically supported Democrats in US elections, performing for John Kerry in 2004 and Al Gore in 2000, as well as performing for Bill Clinton during his time as President.
On her website, Streisand recently accused Republican John McCain of choosing Sarah Palin as his co-runner in order to secure the vote of women who would have voted for Hillary Clinton, saying: "I believe John McCain chose Gov. Palin because he truly believes that women who supported Hillary - an experienced, brilliant, life-long public servant - would vote for him because his vice president has two X chromosomes.
"McCain's selection of Gov. Palin is a transparent and irresponsible decision all in the name of trying to win this election."
Wasn't the group Hillary did very well with was people over 50? I think it is important to raise money and to have women who were strong Hillary supporters to be very PUBLIC about who they are now supporting.
Whether Streisand appeals to you or not she appeals to millions of folks who supported Hillary --namely folks over 50. Obama is not strong in this category.
I say yes to Streisand and everyone else who are putting their money and their thoughts out there to support Obama.

Now that's not elitist, is it? 2500 a seat? Oh yeah, that makes him look like a man of the people who wants change. Nothing like playing into their hands.

Oh that will play great in Kansas City and Little Rock, good move. Obama should have taken the public funding. This makes him look like the leftist Hollywood elitist the Republicans are painting him to be.
