The measure was initially approved by voters, and voted on last March, after the necessary 5,000 signatures were obtained to add the measure to the ballot.
Despite passage of the measure, the issue did not take center stage until a 17-year-old was arrested in Riviera Beach in southeast Florida for wearing pants that exposed his underwear. The teen, not identified by name, was jailed overnight.
A local report says the teen was held due to a history of marijuana use.
The judge in the case, Palm Beach Circuit Judge Paul Moyle was simply not having it.

It was an excuse for the police to profile people. It never should have been on the books. Just a bunch of conservative southern bigots with nothing better to do than attack kids sagin'. They need to address the real issues in south florida and forget the garbage. It reminds me of when they blasted classical music on the corners on Tamarind Ave to keep the drug dealers off the block. Palm Beach county is ass-backwards.

It was a funny law. For the people who don't like baggy pants just run up to someone pull their pants down another inch(to thier ankles) then give them a little push and they'll fall right over.
