    • they still haven't fixed the play count issue... the new myspace music deleted some previous plays and still does not register all of the current plays, making it harder for up and coming bands to be noticed by labels and setting them back. artists would be charted on myspace by plays and views... hopefully they will fix this bug soon!! also, i thought industry was heading towards indies... this sure is a movement upstream..

    • If it works out this would be a shot in the leg…

Myspace basically always catapults indie bands into the mainstream,
and if they outlaw them then Myspace wont maintain its popularity.

Most mainstream is load of crap.
      and like most people,
the only music I look up is the underground/ indie stuff.

      Besides…
no one I know buys most or all of their music.

    • Myspace couldn't do this all on their own without having to involve large companies that have their own record labels?
      This is total bullshit.
      Dear Tom/ Myspace,
Please don't bother. It's pointless to waste each other's time on such a sham.

    • MySpace is great for connecting with local friends that you wouldn't otherwise be able to get a hold of, but I don't know if I want them to control my playlist too. That might be getting a little too deep.

You should also try Audiolife. You can place a widget on any website, blog, or social network profile, and sell your music and merch directly from that page. The great thing is that there are no up-front fees, and Audiolife takes care of all the processing and shipping.

      Check it out at www.audiolife.com

    • MySpace is quite a tool! I wish it was around when my band "Punch Drunk Monkeys" was "big" in the mid 90's.
(We were choosen by SamGoody Musicland Group as one of the top 4 unsigned bands in the USA in 97)

If only we had a way to market and reach fans like you now can on MySpace!

      Visit...www.CrappyTheClown.com or MySpace.com/CrappyTheClown

      PEACE OUT FREAKS!........

      PS

And some of you haters need to disengage yer BALBBER FLAPS! ( I'll bet all of you who dis MySpace...have a Facebook account!)

    • the only reason i use myspace is to keep track of what the bands i like are doing. it's so much easier then going to each individual bands website.

    • the whole independent feel of myspace has been dead for years now since it was bought by mr murdoch and company....
the internet portal will get smaller and smaller with this new application...
more crappy music will be forced on the masses in search for that magic dollar

    • myspace is fuqn horrendous -- I have almost never used it to listen to music, or to find bands. between pandora, sonicliving, and summer festivals, that's how I find and buy most of my new music.

    • Myspace music was built on indie bands. it's weird they would turn their back as soon as they get a chance. Well, maybe not weird, but it sucks.
