Maybe Obama can sit down with the Pirates and negotiate with them. They'd probably stop for a billion dollars. Hell with the 4.7 trillion he's planning on spending, what's a measley billion to keep those nice pirates from looting.

All kidding aside, I don't think pirating was the occupation of choice for most of these men. I don't mean to make excuses for their sometimes violent behavior, but what sort of desperation would drive people to this extreme?
Perhaps a compromise could be reached and in keeping with the somwhat elitist tradition of Boxing Day, something nice could be sent to the pirates in exchange for letting some things get through.
