there's nothing wrong with being immobile because of some accident or other condition but when you eat yourself into a glob? i'd be critical of his mental sanctity.

The guy can't walk! If he can't get up to get his own food, then he should be able to lose weight easily. Only take him 1000 healthy calories a day and wear ear plugs so you can't hear him whining.

First off, this is fluff ball news. Or a "feel-good story" for those who were touched by it. More important things to be picked for TV.

Second, all you jerks making fun of this man for being fat are enforcing the shallow appearance stereotypes that allow sexism and racism to fester in our world.

Scratch that.

The whole reason this is a story is what wrong with our society, because we give a damn about the spectacle but not the person. Leave this guy alone, this isn't high school where you can giggle like little girls making fun of the fat and ugly people.

Lastly, don't make this man the measuring stick of love/relationships when he hasn't even been married over a year. It is not "If he can find love/companionship/etc. then anyone can". If that were true we'd all be sitting in our castles living happily ever after. But that isn't the case. He got lucky, so does everyone else who finds someone they can even tolerate being with in a relationship after 6 months.
