Heidi Klum and Seal say they will leave America if John McCain becomes President

Seal and Heidi Klum issue US election ultimatum "We'll leave America if John McCain becomes President!"

Star couple Heidi Klum and Seal have threatened to take their kids and leave America if Republican candidate John McCain wins the US Presidential election.

Seal (45) dropped the bombshell in an interview with Vanity Fair, in which he revealed: “If McCain is elected and America staggers on further towards the abyss, then we will leave the country. That is not a problem for us.”

Although the British singer, who can’t vote in the forthcoming election, doesn’t idolise McCain's Democratic rival Barack Obama (47) like some of his other fans, he did admit: “There is no doubt that he is a great man, and I would put a cross next to his name immediately, if I could.”

The soul legend is certain, however, that America is set for change. He said the interested and politicised youth have “had enough of the atrocities of the Bush administration” and are ashamed of their President.

“The health system is a catastrophe, the economy has hit rock bottom, and Bush has forced his country through lies into an unnecessary and horrible war,” Seal said in the interview.

Seal didn’t reveal where he and his supermodel wife Heidi Klum (35) would take their children if John McCain (72) did win, although many believe their love of Germany may lure supermodel Heidi and her family back to her native country.

    • I'm so sick and tired of celebrities stating that they will leave our beloved America if someone is elected. the last that I saw, the ones that threatened before, Baldwin and Bassinger are still here, they didn't leave, unfortunately like they said they would. Why does Klum and Seal think that anyone cares what they do (other than their friends). This is our country, and I'm here, through thick and thin!!!

    • There are crazy people on this site and non-Americans read this and get the completely wrong idea about America. Americans do not like foriegners, like Seal, insulting us and insulting our government. That makes us just like everyone else. We also do not think highly of an aging model who takes US citizenship and immediately uses it as an excuse to threaten to denounce our country and leave if we do not vote the way she likes. As for the rest despite the insanity on here it is becoming increasingly obvious that McCain is the most qualified man to run for President in decades and he is also one of the most moderate and accomodating men to run for President. His reputation for not just physical but moral courage and conciliation is unique. Obama is nothing but an unqualified hack from a corrupt Chicago political machine. He has done nothing that earns respect or indicates a readiness for the office he is reaching for. His associates and the little of his record that we have indicates his support for the most extreme positions that millions have come to America to escape from..

    • I can not understand people who come to America, the America the land of the free does not exist only in songs, let me say it is not the country but the people that run it. We are suppose to have the right to choose our President but Bush was never elected not the first election nor the last. He has totally screwed up our country, with a war that is as Seal said based on lies, a Government suffering through a recession that just a few short months ago he had said would not happen, and McCain is just like him the only people McCain wants to help are the rich and the h*ll with the rest of us. Obama has been in the shoes of the poor he has known hunger and lack of objects that the rich take for granted. He is smart and will make America what it should be.As for going to other countries why not they have universal health plans they help with families they put there young through College so that they will be able to better themselves. Whats not to LOVE.

    • Leave. And for everyone else threatening to leave, LEAVE! Your a tumor to this country. Get out and stay out. There are plenty of other people that will take your spot (hopefully not on a raft or crawling through a tunnel). You will not be missed, so start packing, get going, and don't look back because we won't be waving. Seal who? Heidi who? Goodbye and good riddance.

I can't blame anyone decent for wanting to leave with skunks like corrupt grampa and the amimal terrorist as Puppets parading themselves around as if they were leaders instead of followers of BIG MONEY OIL. When you look at the long abysmal track record of the Neo Cons in America, they want good people to leave. They want to hijack Elections by means of Voter Fraud and Election Fraud as Bush did in 2000. Their election campaign tactics more resemble a campaign of Terror than anything else I've blogged. McCain/Palin are so extremeist, mindless, negative, atrocious to the sensibilities of decent people, it's as if they wear the most horrid nose repellant known to man. Like that 70s pop song: "You got your dead skunk in the middle of the road, stinkin' to high heaven. Go on now Stink !!! " How else can the concept of minority rule by fear, economic Slavery(is there realy anyother type of Slavery?) be sensed ? Their stench is enough
to drive ANY good people away

unfortunately, like phil collins in the uk, the tossers always return

I'm not sure if it's offensive when celebrities come out with nonsense like this, when they live in countries where people have paid with their lives for the right to democratically vote in who ever they want, sounds like they don't appreciate playing their part in making their country a success rather than running out on it
(a benefit of having only two to vote for, better with one like communist society, but I digress, gets rid of thatcher's favourite minority rule)

To be honest, I don't think any country right now would even take Americans, even for political asylum, nobody wants us right now, we can't even move to Canada nor Mexico, legally that is...

They certainly made their fame and fortune in the U.S. though.

How convenient to be part of the elite jet set that can just up and move on a whim and then turn it into a hollow political statement.

Then again, people of their humble means can't afford adequate healthcare here in the U.S., so it's understandable that they are so upset with this country and forced to leave compared to normal folks.

Honestly, we are screwed if Obama or McCain wins.... so lose lose...

"I will be conducting bag checks. " Like at sporting events and the airport.

"spread the candy around.” " But they aren't the makers of the candy. They are the collectors.

"They may have parents that were working late at a second job to help keep them in their homes" Because the irresponsible bank gave them a loan they knew they couldn't afford.

Yet...the poor bank heads didn't want to suffer this halloween season so they took 700B pieces of candy from the kids and socialistically injected it into their bonus funds and the candy didn't trickle back down to the kids.

"And they will also help keep them in the dark about what is actually about to happen to them if Senator Obama gets elected on November 4th."

Oh....I get it. To help them ignore the fact that when Obama gets in office that they dodged a bullet.

      Good idea.

If you really follow through with this....I have to know where your neighborhood is to see if someone calls the funny farm on you.

shagbag.... words dont really describe you.

You might want to inform the kids that on the contrary in the current system the tallest kid will take away a portion of each of their candy to give to himself. Then every one of the other tall kids can laugh about how easy it is to take candy from the smaller kids who have to take more steps and work much harder for that candy...

Who really cares what those in Hollywood think - they are actors, singers, etc. popular for their entertainment value only. Keep it that way - we don't care what you think or where you live. Why wait till after the election - just move already and cancel all of those wonderful american contracts you currently hold while your at it that helps support your lifestyle. Bye Bye Already.

That's a really ignorant thing to say. So because a person is a professional entertainer, they have no real intelligence or right to speak their mind?

I certainly don't believe things just because a celebrity says them, but they might well just be a knowledgeable person with a camera in their face and people asking what they think.

      1st Amendment, what? huh?

Kb I think he means that just because they are a celebrity doesnt mean they have to be on some "OMG A STAR LETS LISTEN TO THEM JUST BECAUSE OF THAT" pedestal. Yeah, they are a star but I'm getting sick and tired of when I'm watching the news, and Larry King or something spends a whole segement on how Matt Damon thinks Palin is blahblahblah. Really who cares? Yeah they have the 1st Amendment, but that doesnt mean we have to agree with them.

    • I"m reading the posts..... you guys do know she's German and from Germany...right?

      There's that word "Patriotism" again.

Funny how our country is completely divided.

There seems to be two america's.

One America has no desire to broaden their depths and want so stay on one path without deviation.

The other America wants to evolve, try new things, and be more pro-active.

*yes. i realize there is a gray area*

It sucks it has to be this way. But....the idealists say it's what makes America America.

Heidi is from Germany....safe to say she spends more time in Germany anyway. At least from the German magazines I read or when watching ProsiebenSat1welt it appears she's there more than here.

Seal is from the UK....pretty safe to say...he spends as much time as he can in her presence due to the fact his career isn"t all that huge anymore.

It"s not a benefit or loss if they stay or go.

This country has bigger problems to deal with than a super models choice of home.

      2. I like neither of the choices this year. Some of the best candidates were left on the sidelines.

      3. The battle for building our great nation has been waged for 232+ years and it will continue long after we are all turned to dust. Even if your candidate wins, it is not over.

      4. For those who stay the battle will continue. For those who leave the battle moves.

    • goodbye expatriates!! As for me, I will stay and keep plugging. No matter who wins, they will get my support and given a chance. Stars move here because the taxes are better than the UK I have heard. And of course, so many Americans that are 'childish' make them heros...the true heroes in my book are every day people: nurses, teachers, ministers of all faiths, community leaders, ?policeman, firemen and anyone who tries to be a good HUMAN first, and serve others as much as possible second.

A supermodel and a singer shouldn't have THAT much influence on the American populations' voting preference.

DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YA ON THE WAY OUT!

Heidi... can you just leave Project Runway in the U.S. I have really kinda grown accustomed to that show. Fierce!!!! LOL

But in all seriousness. As much as I hate to say it Conservatives do make a great point when they Liberals are quick to flee this country when the going gets tough. I know I’m guilty of saying (in a joking manner) that I will leave the country if McCain is elected. Maybe we all need to rethink that approach. After all this is OUR COUNTRY! Having citizenship should be like being married.

“For better or worse, richer and poorer, in sickness and health…”

We gotta be willing to withstand the good and bad times. If things go astray we’ve got to be willing to fight for our rights and get things back on track.

I dunno… just something to think about.

Liberals who realize their responsibility to make things happen isn't culminated in a once every 4 years election. We can only make it happen through daily, weekly, monthly action. If you think your responsibility ends with the casting of a ballot, maybe you should leave. After you cast your ballot. Bye!

stephensmom is right...its not about "one man" its about a whole country being idiots and going in a direction I dont agree with. I already lost a significant amount of faith in the people of this country in the last election....if McCain wins then pretty much all my faith will be gone.

I love America because of its freedoms and ideals, but if people are going to start taking those away and pushing just their religious ideals then I dont want to be a part of it anymore. Theres plenty of other awesome countries out there Id love to experience life in and Id rather be living in a progressive country than a regressive one.

    • JanforGore:

Why push back to people that obviously don't want to change?

Besides, whats wrong with wanting the best possible life for yourself and your children? People flee countries all the time because they no longer agree with the popular ideals/government....you know what...that's what founded America! The American spirit is pursuing what you to believe the best possible life for you and your family, and sometimes that means fleeing a country that you no longer can agree with.

Personally Ive been wanting to live and work in another country for a long time. Regaurdless of who wins I will leave this country to live in another for at least a few years. I dont think theres anything wrong with doing this...hell most other people from other countries do. Theres nothing wrong with trying a different country out to see if its the right life for you, in fact I think most people should live outside their birth country for at least a few years. You are not born obligated to your country, you choose your country and your allegiance becomes that much stronger by making a conscious choice as opposed to just going with what you are presented with at birth.
