"Hey...Not to scare anyone off with an avalanche of newspaper junk here, but this ain't a political statement nor some up your ass world view! It is simply an artistic desire to do something different, combining edgy alternative music with modern, meaningful lyrics drawn out of the constant daily news overflow... Consumption society has become obese, obscene, over-intrusive feeding all kinds of clever propaganda machines the media is at the heart of . Still not taking ourselves too seriously, THE AXEHEAD JOURNAL has a modern time story-telling, troubadouring, satirical reporter kind of vibe..."
Inspired by "true events" and great bands & producers from many genres, They set up our own label Cozmopolitan in 2006 creating their edgy and eccentric blend of alternative rock/ punk/ metal/ electro grooves meeting modern tabloid culture, turning the shocking, the gossiping and filthy air into distortion.
Recorded & produced in London, «TABLOID ROCK» includes the ‘flammable' single & video «THE END OF OIL» shot by director Julien Vray in april 2008. Mixing the rough with the smooth, the good, the bad and the funky, «TABLOID ROCK» is the first stake in the ground of a 100% independent and multi-faceted project.
