Prince vs. Gay Rights?

DailyFix
What a week in music! Paul McCartney wants to release a long-lost Beatle track. Rod Stewart's rolling with Ron Wood this summer for a Faces reunion tour. Jane's Addiction reunited again. Bocephus may be running for a seat in the Tennessee Senate. Jimmy Fallon replaces Conan, and The Roots may replace Max Weinberg. John Mayer could get his own 60's style variety show, and Elvis Costello scores a spot on the Sundance Channel. Prince may not support gay marriage, and will not promote a fragrance. Chris Martin wears musical trousers, OonceOonce calls out Justice, and Kanye releases a free mixtape.

    • Prince said it the way it is! He should stand up for what he said, and it definitely means he's aganist same sex marriage. Plus its not his words its the bible's word! Its NOT a discussion!!!

    • Prince has done more for gay and queer rights than he will ever realise. Why is it so difficult for people accept he's both in touch with his own sexuality and at the same time able to free himself from the shackles of gender conformity?

    • meh...had me thinking Prince might finally win himself a pair of balls standing up for real men. Too bad it's just the New Yorker trying to create a stir. and Current? u honestly panzyaz mfrz. still trying to convince people how you really like it up the ____? enraging, passing this shite off as "news." I wonder who else has had ongoing contractual disagreements that you, Current, didn't bother to report for mere lack of any opportunity to stigmatize controversy or disagreement with your AIDS-stricken homo agenda?

      hey... U2 _|_ _|_

echoz (for one) vs homo "rights" ...and you can make that the title of your next effeminate "fix" video, punks.

    • Prince is like the gayest person, ever. This has got to be a misquote. The people at The New Yorker look like total D-bags.

Actually, I heard from a guy who is the resident photographer for the club in Manchester where the incident occurred that they plugged it right back in after they realized it and kept going. I have also heard from numerous people (who are actual d.j.'s and not a bunch of no-talent whiners who love to criticize people actually possessing talent) that midi controllers are immediately fully functional once they are plugged in, even mid-set. A usb plug popping out is something that can happen very easily when someone is working around copious amounts of electronic equipment. Justice should make sure that won't happen, but the shit that everyone is giving them is totally uncalled for. You would think that Paris Hilton was just found to be a tranny. No one that really loves the music should be subjecting people to this tabloid-esque bullshit...it does not belong on the scene.

    • Also this week, Billy Corgan acted all weird at a show and brought a fan up onstage again. This time the fan is supportive, but Corgan says something about masturbating to Sarah Palin and complains that his fans don't love him enough.

    • According to The New Yorker article, Prince also talked POLITICS:

"So here’s how it is: you’ve got the Republicans, and basically they want to live according to this." He pointed to a Bible. “But there’s the problem of interpretation, and you’ve got some churches, some people, basically doing things and saying it comes from here, but it doesn’t. And then on the opposite end of the spectrum you’ve got blue, you’ve got the Democrats, and they’re, like, ‘You can do whatever you want.’ Gay marriage, whatever. But neither of them is right.”
