ksimpson
This exclusive short cut of Nick Broomfield's feature film Kurt & Courtney talks about the controversy surrounding Kurt Cobain's death and the conspiracy theories that tried to implicate his wife, Courtney Love. With some insights into Kurt's early life, before Nirvana, Broomfield touches on some of the other factors that may have contributed to Cobain's early and tragic death. • such a stupid conspiracy, plain and simple Kurt was a junkie f*ck up with some emotional issues and killed himself. Don't get me wrong i loved and still love Nirvana and Kurt. But blaming Courtney is just plain and simple misogyny... a woman destroys rock and roll and destroys an artist and wants to take all his money and the man is in no way to blame for his own f*ck ups... as always.... yeah right!

and i think Broomfield still has bias in his film making despite his claims he's given a fair view of events.

    • It was a real shame that he died, but truth be told, his best days were probably behind him. There was no way they were going to top (or come near to) Nevermind's success, even though it isn't their best album.

I personally believe that he killed himself, but I don't believe he did it alone. Too many factors say someone helped him (probably Courtney, she's insane enough), ie how his fingerprints weren't found on the gun he shot himself with.

    • i couldnt have been a suicide. his body was loaded with heroin. its a little hard to pick up a heavy ass gun when your so loaded lol.

its also kind of hard to pick up a shot gun and face it towards your head....unless your arms are as big shaquille o'neal.

that wasnt a suicide. and whats funny is, the man who was offered to kill curt refused and just happened to get killed by a train that has been living near half of his life.

im sorry something is fishy about that.

Cobain was a huge inspiration for me and I always hated Courtney, but I still feel that it was suicide.

    • Kurt killed himself and God rest his soul. No one would kill the golden goose that laid the egg. Look at his early life, he went through alot of changes and a lot of drugs and was troubled in some ways and felt let down by the world. RIP Kurt.

    • There is a very interesting book about Kurt's mysterious death called "Love and Death." A very good read for those who suspect that Cobain may have been murdered and an even better book for those who think he committed suicide. This is an old topic but it's interesting to see what people think, some people really don't believe he was murdered, and there is some who really believe it. There is some interesting coincidences surrounding the murder and anyone interested should check out that book. I'd love to have a discussion with someone who doesn't believe he was murdered to see if I can persuade them with the facts.

    • I have heard it said that Nick Broomfield is a Michael Moore of sorts and generally has the same kind of effect on people when they watch any documentary - you either buy in or you don't. However, I think Nick has many things going for him - he is a very organic kind of verite documentary filmmaker who is willing to go where the story and his interview subjects and the information he gathers direct him regardless of where he ends up. Though this film is older it is a reminder that there are a number of "suicide" cases of well known musicians and artists that have been swept under the rug and disregarded REGARDLESS of many "conspiracy theories" and people losing their businesses, offices and jobs because they gave into their passion to seek out justice. Perhaps you all recall the shootings of Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac? Same thing, different genre of music. There are stories that go much deeper. . . the question is are we ready and willing to find out what REALLY happened and who will reopen these cases to make sure they get the attention they deserve?

Do you really think that Heath Ledger's death was "accidental?" There is a very fine line between "accidental overdose" (WTF is that? oops, I took too much heroin, OTC medication, etc.?) and the act of taking your own life whatever method you choose.

    • very disturbing. i mean i kinda had it in the back of my head that courtney might have had something to do with his death. she might not have pulled the trigger, but somehow she contributed to it.

    • Even for me, a 16 year old, Kurt Cobain was responsible for getting me into music. I don't think Kurt was murdered, I think it's just Cobain fans looking for someone to blame for their idol being taken away from them.

    • Semaj_notnar:

I am and have been a Nirvana fan since first getting into music in my early teens. I had heard conspiracy theories about Kurt's death but never took them seriously, but the more you learn about the details of the suicide and the more you learn about Courtney Love you would be naive not to raise an eyebrow and second guess. Apparently Tom Grant has indisputable evidence that Kurt was murdered that he refuses to disclose unless the case is reopened.
