LOL a "staggering" 19 times, shes so gross, its like a music producer went to a crackhouse, grabbed the first pile of deteriorating "girl" and said, "honey, Im gonna make you a STAR!" Radiohead knew what they were getting into (and they can afford it, Im sure..great album as always tho). Cant believe I missed that MIA show at bonnaroo, think that was the night I took a bit too much acid..Ti sucks, noone with any musical taste cares

Winehouse looks like Bowzer with a wig. Poor girl, that is what happens with H and Crack. She went from cool to fool in a New York minute.

Nice! I like this Daily Fix, it's interesting to compare how far or not far the popular musicians have gone in this past year. M.I.A. and Radiohead, always fine by me.

Its a human thing to wonder why some people when they have fame and fortune would want to be fucked up on hard drugs. And why not just sit back smoke a joint...... relax and enjoy the ride.

gotta disagree, its human to talk shit in attempts to bolster their own self esteem, who better a target than someone famous with a long list of problems in the constant public eye. But honestly, shes like a cockroach, I dont think even a heavy dose of radiation would kill her, she'd probably just get a lil buzz

The extent to which medical cannabis users discontinue or reduce their use of pharmaceutical and over-the-counter drugs is a recurring theme in a recent survey of pro-cannabis (PC) California doctors. The drug-reduction phenomenon has obvious scientific implications. Medicating with cannabis enables people to lay off stimulants as well as sedatives -suggesting that the herb's active ingredients restore homeostasis to various bodily systems. (Lab studies confirm that cannabinoids normalize the tempo of many other neurotransmission systems.) The political implications are equally obvious. Legalizing herbal cannabis would devastate the pharmaceutical manufacturers and allied corporations in the chemicals, oil, "food," and banking sectors. Put simply, the synthetic drug makers stand to lose half their sales if and when the American people get legal access to cannabis.

Your title is misleading...
This should be a discussion of whether or not being at the top of a year's end list, guarantees future success. Not the personal problems of talented musicians. You're in one second, you're out the next... it happens in the high life.
Let's not judge. - 3 years ago

in our culture, many emotions are expressed by our poets artists and musicians, because most of us are never taught to express emotion for ourselves.
Before you say a screeching "NO" to this, how many of you have said 'that's it! that's exactly how I feel! that explains what I mean exactly!'
Expressing emotion in this culture is hard, and usually means that you are emoting so deeply that it is impossible to hold it in, and sadly the most popular emotion we have is pain.
So, if you are expressing emotion for yourself, and 100 thousand people jump in there to say 'that's how I feel too', how much weight is that emotion you are carrying?
Now here's the trick--it is MUCH easier to change your perception of reality than to change your reality.
I don't condone her self-medicating, but I sure as hell understand it!

no one forced her to be in that relationship - just like no one forced her to smoke that pipe.

Your comment is by far the most ignorant thing I have seen.
It would be the same to say that to someone who hates their job. They can complain and complain but hey, no one forced them to work there. But then again, we aren't that person. Therefore we would never understand their motives and actions.
I dont agree with what she is doing with her life.
But then again, its HER life. Its up to her and herself only to realize its not worth it.You may look at her or anyone else and see a blurred lifestyle.
But have you ever thought that maybe its your vision of the world that is distorted?correct your eyes.
then you can see clearly. - 3 years ago

Easy to point a finger when you don't live the life.
Not to condone her actions, but look at the piece of crap she's had for a husband. She's in an extremely abusive relationship, hounded constantly by the press, losing touch with her family and doing the only thing she was shown how to do in order to cope with all of this.
Someone needs to pick her up, pull her out, and detox her in an environment not surrounded by tragedy-hungry mediaphiles.

When there are many people who are famous who withstand such daily and live as normal a life as they can....stating she isn't doing something is not stated so without merit.
Her choice to be the way she is. The media may hound her and that is annoying and it's not right that they do it. But the media also hounds other people and they don't turn to drugs to "cope".
She doesn't even try....I can't feel sorry for someone that doesn't bother to help themselves.

What the hell is wrong with her? How do people like that get to get anywhere in life when people with more talent can't even get a start?
She's almost...almost...a waste of human life. Almost.
and apparently being a top...anything list...means nothing. The only good list to be on is the Oscar Winner list. That brings in the cash.

almost all great musicians go through a drug addiction. Some make it and some dont some of the greats Anthony Kiedis, and the rest of the Chili peppers,Jimi Hendrix,Bradley from Sublime who both died. I could go on but all of these musicians still did some great work including Amy Whinehouse. C'mon even the prez was hooked on COCAINE but we forgave him right?
