Coldplay back in studio with Eno

Chris Martin's Coldplay have let slip that they're back in the studio recording their next album, with Brian Eno, the writer who famously worked with the band on their 2008 LP Viva La Vida.

They apparently revealed the news via a message over Twitter last week, that read:
"The band are back in the studio for a couple of weeks with Brian Eno... Prospekt."

    • Their last album is the one album that had me drifting away from listening to them. I have to admit I've never even heard it fully and I used to really be into them. Every song I heard from the new album sounded very bland and too anthemic in a very forced way, so I ended up avoiding listening to the whole thing properly. I'd be glad if they went back to using Ken Nelson, who produced Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood To The Head.

On his own, Brian Eno has done some incredible stuff though. This song - An Ending (Ascent) - is gorgeous and the influence on big bands today like Sigur Ros is very apparent. Just listen to their song 'Takk', the opener on the album of the same name.
