What did Eminem's Mom do to him to make him Hate Women So Much?

By now you’ve probably all seen Eminem’s new video for “We Made You.” Sure it’s a great song, but after watching the video, you can’t deny the blatant mysogynism. Sure it’s fair enough to hate Sarah Palin, but let’s get straight to the heart of the matter, what did Eminem’s mom do to him to make him hate women so much?

PS: I recognize that there is some inherent and ironic misogyny in blaming Em’s mom for his hatred of women, but hey, we don’t really have time to do a complete psychological evaluation.

    • No, it was a combo of F & G. Sorry folks.. The video made it abundantly obvious....

      F. He was a closet Trekkie and his mom made fun of him, but what saved his ass is that he liked poetry on the side... but she dissed that too.

      G. Then, mommy had a flaunted affair with a guy that kicked Eminem's ass when he was in 6th grade.
      At the time of the said love affair... Eminem was 19. The bully was 18 and MoM was 43. And Eminem was pissed.

      Now everything crystal?

    • freedom of hate anyone? i loved the part in the video were he talks about banging palin lol i wish we could all just piss her off the face of the planet.

      p.s. who hasent been dressed like a little girl at least once in there lives?....... anyone? no? well we should really find out his issues so i can do the same to my kids in the hopefull attempt to turn them in to popular icons:)

      Am I misreading you? Are saying that its natural to not view women as equals? Because thats not natural at all, thats misogyny.

      And Im sorry but in my opinion, lack of respect based on gender is an expression of hatred.

      To blindly have no respect for a group of people is to hateful and prejudice. And no it is not instinct to have no respect for women since most men do respect women, the minority of men that do not respect women are sick little boys who need help.

      I would say more but youve obviously made it this far in life being a hateful sexist so theres probably nothing a lowly woman like me could say to change your mind. I just feel sorry for the women in your life.

      I'm not sexist. All I said was that maybe...just maybe men have a natural urge to disrespect, or at the very least disregard women as lesser beings. Don't believe me? Ask yourself these questions: How hard was is for women's suffrage? How come women had to fight for their rights? And more importantly: If society collapsed tomorrow; Would the modern male/women relationship continue, or deteriorate to that of years past?

      No I dont think its natural for men to view women as lesser beings. For a long time and in many cultures still, women are regarded higher than men and the social structures are matriarchal. If society collapsed tomorrow it could very well revert back the matriarchal system that existed long before patriarchies. Do some research and you will find that women have not always been repressed by men. Disrespect of women is not a natural impulse of men, it is a learned emotion passed down through society and negative family values.

      Also, using your logic its natural for Caucasians to oppress and disrespect African Americans...and its natural for Germans to want to kill the Jewish...and the Japanese to slaughter the Chinese. Are you saying all of these are natural? Disrespect and failure to acknowledge another people as equal is not natural, it is the result of negative conditioning.

      I understand your cultural angle, and that of "sexism" being that of "tradition" rather than "instinct", but I must also wonder; If women are superior, or at the very least equal to men, why, and how did they allow themselves, in western culture, to be so restricted, and belittled my men for so many years?

    • any artist's work stems from what they know. Em is a talented lyricist and has a lot of bad memories about the women in his life. To convey the message he includes people who're in the public spotlight to relate and connect with people. When you mix all this together, plus a fifth of vodka and a ziplock bag of weed, you get Eminem! he's definitely flexing his right to free speech when everyone is afraid to say what they want to. good stuff :-)

    • probably a combination of no father figure and his mom
      careing more about cigs and booze then her own son. i think he laughs when he thinks about how trailer trash his upbringing was and how much money he has now. haha.
      but if you want the real story. i gusse you would just have to have the know how and the balls to ask him!

      i doubt she brest fed him cus she aint got no tits!

      I think you nailed it, there could be a real argument for "holding a mirror up to society" here, but that doesn't mean the rest of you shouldn't chime in with your answer.
