Sigur Rós singer to release side project album

Sigur Rós singer Jón Þór Birgisson (aka Jónsi) and partner Alex Somers have exhibited artwork as Riceboy Sleeps since 2003, but they are finally releasing their debut album on July 20 via Parlophone.

The duo recorded the album in Iceland and Hawaii, using only acoustic instruments and solar-powered laptops.

It does sound a lot like Sigur Rós without the singing.
