Obviously Churchill will be the next insurer to be rapped on the knuckles because I'm about 99% sure they don't insure motorists who are dogs.

Iggy Pop is weird. What does he do in winter, surely he has to put a nice warm cardigan on at some point? He can't permenantly be topless.

I'm glad this is off my TV. Not for the fact it's misleading, but for the fact that every time I saw the advert I seemed to be eating my dinner. A topless Iggy Pop served indirectly as a great dietary supplement for me.

Apparently the advertising watchdog received a record number of complaints last year. And they withdrew or changed a record number of ads too.
Does this mean advertisers are taking more risks and crossing the line of what's OK? Or do people have too much time on their hands?
One objection made about a VW advert featuring a dog in the car, focused on the fact the ad breached the highway code. Hmmm, perhaps people are too quick to complain.
The ad that generated the most complaints was part of the Barnardos campaign. It showed a young girl being hit repeatedly and scenes of drug abuse, but none of the 840 objections were upheld and the ad was allowed to stand.
Here's a post from Mr_Costello for more on this subject:
