Dave Gahan the lead singer for Depeche Mode has had surgery to remove a cancerous tumour in his bladder, according to a recent statement on the band's official website.
The band were currently on a world tour but has had to cancel several shows because of the Gahan's health problems.
Gahan was diagnosed with gastroenteritis before further medical tests revealed a "low-grade malignant tumour".
The tumour has now been removed, but Gahan has been ordered to rest until 8 June.
The band will then resume their Tour Of The Universe in Leipzig, Germany. Whilst the eight shows between now and then have been cancelled, including a gig at London's 02 on 30 May.
