New Gossip Album about "gayness"

Beth Ditto has said that the new album from the Gossip is much more about gayness.
She said now her group was part of the mainstream it had the power to influence the agenda.
"This record is much more about gayness. We come from the post-riot grrrl scene, and when you're suddenly in the UK Top 40, it's a really rad platform.
"We were so isolated as kids - we had to scrape the surface until we found something cool. Without bands like Nirvana and Sonic Youth, we'd have been lost. "I just hope what we do inspires some totally nerdy boy with glasses in some remote village, or some fat girl who's been told she's ugly, to form a band. Happiness is so close - it starts when you get the f**k out of school!"

today i figured out i love this album because it's like something Heart would have made if they were queer. it disco-rocks its heart out, but it's more overtly about gayness, as ditto says, than ever before.
