“Commemorating Gay Pride: Saturday Night and Sunday Morning” is a commemorative, emotionally touching photographic-video essay on Gay Pride. It includes a number of beautiful HQ color photographs, a stunning slide show of vintage photographs and the timely, deeply moving, tender music video “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes. In addition, the piece presents the full version (HULU) of “The Times of Harvey Milk,” which won the 1984 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film and the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

    • The Religous Right convently leave out one little fact in their fight about Homosexuality, and that is that Jesus himself never uttered a word about us homos. He did, though have a lot to say about the Hetrosexual sex and marrage. In John 5 he spoke of the woman who's husband had divorced her (which by the way according to scripture is the only way a woman can be divorced, she cannot do it herself), if she remarries both she and the new husband are committing adultry. Adultry is punishable by the same stoning that we homos are supposed to get. The Christian community only see sin in things they think will raise large sums of money for their ministry. Where is the peace, joy, longsuffering and other fruits of the Spirit displayed. They are alway at war with the devil yet still no progress in defeating "him".

As for these ex-gay ministries, if homosexuality is the devil as they clam, then according to scripture when Jesus would cast out a demon he was gone, and could not come back if the "house" was full of the spirit. Yet these guys who run things like Love in Action say that they deal with it all time. I know from knowing some people that are ex-gay, married and have kids that they still have that desire and still do play around or at least play around in their mind. Jesus said if you think about it, it is as if you had done it. If I were a betting person if you could get these guys to tell the truth they are thinking about a man when they are doing their wife, either that or they are bi.

As a gay man I begin to see that most churches is about control and money when it should be about love and compassion. Where is the unconditional love of the "christian" famlies who's child is gay? When I came out I was afraid that I would be thrown out of the family, my parents were very kind and loving in spite of their beliefs. I have a cousin who on the other had has forbid her whole family from talking to me. Such Christian Love!!!!!.

If we as the gay community begin to adapt the Fruit of the Spirit we could change our community into one of the most powerful forces in the universe. We need to become the real "christians" by living in peace and harmony in our own community.

    • I am a Gay black male that doesn't see my lifestyle as a choice...if it was then I probably would have ended my life successfully years ago. I do believe that if the hetero(so- called)sexual masses would quit thinking about what goes on in our life theirs might be a bit better.I've of several stories the husband and wife gets divorced and the man ends calling his ex-wife all kinds of negative names because they weren't willing to try to work things out between them, but yet they say should be between a man and a woman; why so you can more ignorant offspring hoping they grow up to be something great,,,,,,,,,stay our of our bedrooms and get stay out of yours ( except to sleep )

    • How about a photographic video essay of men "pleasuring" each other, like at the Folsom Street Fair? Tender and deeply moving? Seeing men slipping each other the tongue I don't consider emotionally touching. That said, it is a matter of condemning the sin, but loving the sinner. We must seperate the two, and show love for one another- being respectful of differences but calling it what it is- sin. (let the stoning begin....)
