Soulja Boy Threatens to Quit Rap and Nobody Cares

Soulja Boy had some frustration to get off his chest on Wednesday night, so he launched into a 2-hour Twitter tirade about crackers and his struggles as an artist. I stepped aside for a few minutes only to come back and see that Soulja Boy had deleted all his “cracker” comments. He attributed the change of heart to some “good advice” he received from Tyrese over the phone. Let me guess, Tyrese probably told him to delete those comments or he’ll be working at McDonalds in 6 months.

Good thing Celebtwitter cached the tweets. Rappers never learn. If you don’t want people to know, never ever ever put it online. Proceed to read Soulja Boy’s “cracker” tirade in its entirety.

Shit ain’t how it use to be. Niggaz always fucking up public shit. Niggaz always hating… this world is looking real ugly right now…

Yeah I said. fuck all of yall. I’m taking my money and leaving. Gonna go blow kush and live my 2nd dream. this rap shit lame now

Like why? Like really. My music dream was THE SHIT 2 years ago before I was signed. It was everything I could ever imagine.

Then I get signed. this is where my dream slowly died.. these crackaz wanna critcize a nigga. take REAL SHIT and turn it to trash

Water down my music and my appearance and make me look like something i’m not. THESE CRACKERS DONT KNOW WHO THE FUCK I REALLY AM!!!

I go to the studio make new music for my fans to enjoy and party to. They take my shit hate on me. Make me look ignorant in the media

It’s all bullshit. Like WHY do I have to put up with this? because it’s my dream? that shit died when crank that went #1

      Amen. I'm sick of this crap they try to call music. This is my opinion, mind you. It's not music about living in the streets. It's music glorifying violence and things in the status quo, such as demeaning women, substance abuse, and how you need to carry your 'piece' with you at all times, because, you know, you might get plugged.

      I like the idea of rap, which is the freestyle vocalization that is associated with living in the worst conditions and speaking out against it, just not the execution. This is why I prefer bands like A Tribe Called Quest. Their music spoke to a generation living in terrible conditions. Their music spoke to me too. They don't fall into the same traps as most rappers do. The glorification of the 'thug life' and self-interest.
