LA mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, has demanded that the city will cover the $1.4 million that was spent on MJ's memorial last week. This ends all discussion whether AEG Live, the owner of the Staples Center, or MJ's family, would pick up the large tab.
Villaraigosa is quoted, "This is a world-class city, and we provide fire and police protection, period," Villaraigosa said during his first public appearance since returning from his weeklong trip. "The idea that we would charge the family for a funeral is nonsensical."
