Classical music and video games were brought closer together four years ago when Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall premiered Video Games Live! at the Hollywood Bowl. Since then, the event has grown, culminating in a 60-show tour this year where fans can compete to play games live as an orchestra performs live renditions of classic video game themes. The tour will go from Seattle to Pittsburgh, with stop sin Japan and Taiwan.
The event has and hopes to continue to bridge a gap between to crowds. A lot of the gamers attending have never seen a symphony live, and for classical music supporters, video game compositions are allowed an opportunity to prove their legitimacy.
