i think Bat for Lashes or The Horrors should win.
Some of these nominations are a bit of a joke... i mean Kasabian? Glasvegas?
Florence and the Machine... I think she's terribly overrated,
As for La Roux. La Roux makes pop music and pretends to be something more than she is. They may as well have just nominated Lady Gaga.

La Roux? LA ROUX?! Why not just give the award to Hoxton and Shoreditch. Unbelievable.

Just getting a nomination will boost sales for all the artists and get little stickers on there albums saying "Nominated for a Mercury Music Prize". Even if they don't win the £20,000 prize money.

I didn't see Friendly Fires on the list, I think they've got a good chance as well.
Their album is amazing, as is this remix of their track 'Paris' by Aeroplane.

I'd love to see Friendly Fires winning, but it's a long shot.
So... Bat for Lashes ftw!

I'm so over La Roux. She used to be cool, before she tried to be cool, and now she's no longer cool.
I hope Florence and the Machine win.. or Friendly Fires..

Overall it is a pretty disappointing list, but one of my favourite albums of 2009 is included - Two Suns by Bat for Lashes - and I hope she is going to win.
Antony Heggarty and PJ Harvey deserved a nomination, but they both have already won a Mercury a few years ago.
I am quite surprised Lily Allen is not in the list. - 2 years ago

Hmm, I'd say it's between La Roux and Florence.
I'm not sure who I'd rather win - maybe La Roux, because the 'Skreamix' of "In For The Kill" has been the club anthem of '09 - so much so Skream was presented with a Gold Disc for it on MistaJam' 1Xtra show last week.
