Awol One & Factor: Owl Hours (Review)

Image
When I bumped this album in the ride it didn’t leave the deck for a week. Owl Hours is executive produced by Xzibit (Tha Alkoholiks, Pimp My Ride) and features the rapper on “Brains Out”. The album also hosts a well rounded gaggle of emcees, including Ceschi Ramos, Myka 9 (of Freestyle Fellowship fame), Aesop Rock, Tash & J-Ro (Tha Alkaholiks) and even features B-Real (Cypress Hill) on the no-holds-barred remix of Brains Out. Canada’s own Factor produced Owl Hours as well as Awol One’s previous album “Only Death Can Kill You,” which is already considered by many to be an underground classic. The follow up is no small feat as Factor is seductive with his craft and daftly precise in his execution of vibe.
