I think a lot of people lost any respect for him at that very moment. What kind of asshole do you have to be to ruin some young singer's first award on that show?

i hear the song "Let's give em' somethin to talk about"... wake up people.. lets focus attention on things that actually matter .

I understand that Kanye is "The voice of a generation" Or what the hell ever he thinks, that was wrong, and he should have been shunned for that. Kanye west should never be allowed to attend any Video Music Award ceremony EVER again for his obvious disregard for peoples feelings, or how to properly behave in public. What a fucking douche bag. Didn't know who Taylor Swift was until I heard about the latest Kanye outburst. This is good publicity for her(although I don't care enough to give her a listen.)

after Kanye flooded the airwaves with Jesus Walks, I stopped listening to the radio.He must have a new album coming out , right? That would be the only reason for him to act the fool;(again.)

It's entertainment people. The whole awards ceremonies are a big overblown circus.

Im sorry if I dont believe this is real for one second. First of all its MTV, they are kind of known for their pranks and what not especially at their own awards shows. Second, Kanye might be a bit of an ass, but hes not an idiot. All these outbursts and stunts he does arent just spur of the moment, they are planned out with the intent of getting him free publicity. And last night it worked perfectly because he's the most talked about person online and on media today...so kudos.

in an effort to continue the PR snowball, MTV should start playing kanye's videos then interrupt them with taylor swifts.

I love beyonce´s last album and i have to say i agree with kanye, single ladies is one of the best videos of all time, on the other hand I hate taylor swift and all this "sweete girl" act, however i DO NOT support kanye actions, i mean people voted swift, you just have to deal with it (and loose a little faith in humanity in the process).

She was already pretty popular. She dated a Jonas Brother (making her really popular with young ones) and she's a hit on country radio. She crossed over....she really is very popular without his help. But yeah now people around the world will know her name and enjoy her talent.

I think it was all an outlandish, desperate inter-label gimmick, publicity stunt for Taylor.

Kanye really put his neck out on the line though, if what I'm saying is true..... he's going to get major backlash from the public for this, and he'll probably see a drastic decline in his record sales report. But, I think that, in exchange for his sacrifice he'll be receiving a hefty paycheck....but from who? It's the equivalent of a formerly prized, washed up fighter throwing a major fight to boost the notoriety of his opponent, that's show business, they come and they go! But only the wise survive...

That'll teach them to serve Kanye Tenants Super Strength at the bar!

I've recently watched the video that won the award, and I thought it actually rocked. It was just cool and lovely. No butt shaking just a plain and simple love story. Ku Toes, you deserve it!

For Mr. West, college drop out was magnificent. Love 808 kinda sucks. You're losing the art of music through your ego. Nobody likes a person that's negative. Beyonce's video's are pretty damn amazing, but her budget is a lot higher then most.

Gosh, I have read a lot of racist comments about West and his actions. But what does race have to do with it. He's a guy with a big ego who so happens to be Black.

People be smart about judging one person's ignorance and bestowing on the rest of the whole African American race. I'm a Black male and I truly think what he has done to Swift was wrong and uncalled for.

Well, I love Kanye's music, though I prefer Kid Cudi's, but that doesn't change his great influence in the music business. Don't get me wrong, this is not an excuse for his behaviour -- that was just inappropriate and stupid.

I don't want to say its fake because the reaction on Beyonce seemed real.

But MTV is known for staging controversy. I don't know if your remember when "Bruno" sat on Eminem's face, that incident was staged. And, I would think the girl would have been far from the stage on her way home or in dressing area. She got to the stage pretty quick after being called by Beyonce.
