Roots squash rumors about selling out.

the thing with the roots is if they were sell outs they would've gone on Leno or Larry King or someone's show on a level like that, but they dont like mainstream and aren't blasting on any shitty radio stations 24-7. they're not selling out, theyre just getting some exposure.

and to add to this, they'd be sell outs if they had played at the staples center and sold their tickets for 100 a pop. so frankly, just be happy they're spreading the love.

If the Roots made the same type of albums that 85% of the Rap industry makes about cash, cars, clothes, and hoes then that would constitute selling out. They have not done that

Success and exposure do not equate selling out.

I dig the ROOTS as much as the next forward thinking brutha....but that being said, it's not going to make me want to watch Fallon...

Mannn not enough people know about how f**kin cool THE ROOTS are.. I'm telling you..they are stand up guys....They did a concert in CUBA in '02 and fought to play with a band in Cuba that the government was opposed to..unlike Juanes who went for the ride or just are poppy and clueless about what they're getting into (not bashing Juanes---just a difference) THE ROOTS did this just because they thought the band was cool!!!! They took the 2days off they had in their Japanese tour to go to Havana to play with these guys cause they promised them they would!!!! WHO DOES THAT???? HOW SIC IS THAT??? THE ROOTS don't get enough notice what great people they are aside from their music...if there's anything about THE ROOTS I wish people would know more about how they really go out of their way to stand up for their fans and who they love. They're the real deal x!

they have not sold out, they have just sold... it still amazes me how many people don't know about them.

i personally hate Fallon, but found some respect for him when i learned they were going to be the house band, matter of fact i find myself stopping on his show just to see them.

They are one of the best live performances you will ever see.

Whatever, they're not selling out...they've sold back in. The Roots sold out back around "Phrenology" or so when they realized that they were sick of playing to a largely white, college male crowd.

I love the Roots, but the fact that they are with Jimmy Fallon makes this a horrible decision on their part because he's garbage. I guess the economy is hurting everybody...musicians better take what they can get..

They're getting old and want regular gigs without having to leave the kids and wife behind while going on the road for months.

I see SAM the wizer, but you have to remeber out of all the house bands ever to be on television, how many were black? The Roots arent too good to do the Fallon show, yes it is a average show, but they bring a much needed diversity to television.

But, I do agree they should be on a better show, like conan o'brien!

The ROOTS are the best house band, and may be the best band to come out of philly! An upcoming Band "Back of The Bus" will be right next to them soon. Roots never sold out, ppl gotta catch up!
