La Cathedral is a bohemian semi-underground milonga (tango dance party), in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, The huge warehouse space was originally a grainery, after it was abandoned and fell into disrepair, a group of artists, musicians and dancers began squatting there and throwing regular dance parties and musical performances. It's a unique venue in Buenos Aires, a relaxed haven for lovers of traditional Argentinian music and dance, but La Cathedral is not a traditional Milonga. People come dressed as they please, from three piece suits to jeans and t-shirts, it's a place that manages to transcend the social and class divisions of Argentine society. On Sunday nights, the group Semilla plays Folklore, rock fusion, and Chacarera.
