Dr. Conrad Murray could face up to four years in prison if he's convicted in the pop singer's death. He plans to plead not guilty.

    • Michael Jackson was a filthy degenerate drug addict. He got what he wanted which was the ultimate high. While it may be true that Doctor Murray let a junkie decided what medicine to give him he is by no means completely responsible. How many people reading this blog wouldn't give a junkie drugs along with a paycheck of almost 1 million dollars per month. Michael Jackson was a digusting pedophile who at one point paid over 60 million dollars in order to not get his ass in jail. Well as it turned out a higher authority decided his sentance and we are all better off now that he is dead. I just wish that I could spit on his grave.

    • This to me is sad. One because this doctor is an idiot who put money before his oath to "do no harm" and second because as noted if he had wished to truly help Michael out with insomnia there were several other drugs available that did not need to be administered while in a hospital--because unless I missed it Michael was not having surgery that required an anesthesia and this doctor was not a anesthesiologist or a surgeon so......why involuntary manslaughter?

      This was a clear case of murder for hire (or definitely assisted suicide) if you ask me.

    • The title of this article is incorrect. Dr. Murray wasn't charged with manslaughter. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter. They're very different charges with completely different possible outcomes.

    • Drug addicts die, thats just what they do. To say that this doctor should be held repsonsible for a pedophile dying of drugs is laughable at best.

      It's the doctor's fault when the doctor administers the drug that killed the patient.

      The doctor is sufficiently trained to recognize that the drug that killed MJ is only to be delivered in a hospital setting and with procedures and equipment in place to resuscitate the patient in case of any problems. Also, while on Propofol, the patient must never be left alone, not even for a minute.

      Dr. Murray should have:
      A: Declined to administer the drug -- it can't be self administered
      B: Administered the drug in the proper setting.

      Murray is clearly guilty.

      If you read the coroner's report, the prescription meds that MJ was on didn't contribute to his death. The Propofol administered by Dr.Murray killed Michael.

      That's not to say that MJ wasn't addicted to the other drugs which would have probably killed him at a later date. Nonetheless, the charge against Murray is valid: he involuntarily killed his patient by administering a drug without an appropriate medical indication and in a setting that ultimately proved fatal.

      Had Murray delivered Propofol to MJ in a hospital, he would have had the instruments at his disposal to know that his patient was receiving too much of the drug and would have been able to reverse the effect.

      Propofol is not a sleep assistant. It's a powerful sedative used for anaesthesia.

      He didn't intend to kill MJ. Yet he still did.

      A - Murray openly admitted to administering Propofol to Michael Jackson at the patient's home.
      B - The coroner's report indicates that Michael Jackson died from the Propofol found in his body.

      A + B = Dr. Murray killed Michael Jackson.
