A proposal to build a residential building opposite the London club threatens the venues entertainments license, which when removed, would result in a closure of the club.
To save the venue, a petition was launched , "in an attempt to keep it open. The petition has been backed by music industry umbrella group UK Music's chief , formerly of The Undertones."
When it comes to saving buildings, maybe the Ministry of sound should take note of the latest news of the Abbey Road sale, where the UK government declared the studio as a grade II listed building,
"Speaking after listing the London studio, Culture Minister, Margaret Hodge said Abbey Road had been responsible for "some of the best music in the world", before adding that she had a personal interest in the welfare of the building."
