The animated band’s bassist, Murdoc Niccals, said with the group’s third album their work “feels complete” and it could be the last time the collaborative project comes together.

Wasn't this also stated when Demon days came out? I even remember the Flash site showing off the band as "dead" with their mansion/ studio destroyed.
Damon Albarn's got some explaining to do....

I'm hoping it's not.
I'm actually hoping for another Remix album to follow up Plastic Beach. The first 3 were really good in my opinion. While Plastic Beach didn't quite fill my expectations Demon Days set up, it sure was good for what it was. Stylo is my favorite track on the album, but after a few listens, some of it is just forgettable. Again, I'm hoping its not their last album together ): - 1 year ago

let me be the first to not hop on the bandwagon.....
i love Gorillaz, but this album just didnt do it for me. self titled and demon days were too solid to follow it up with something so mediocre. i listened to Monkey : Journey to the West more than i have Plastic Beach.
MF DOOM, Roots Manuva, and Del the Funky Homosapien beat Snoop and Mos Def any day. Not taking anything away from Mos but the dude is everywhere right now and is quickly becoming overexposed in my books.

It all comes down to opinion, I guess...I think the new one is pretty good.
I love Mos Def, though.

yeah, you and everyone and their mothers who heard about Black Star from the chappelle show.
like i said, i dont mind the mighty mos, i just dont think his latest effort deserves all of the buzz he has been getting lately. Black Star with Talib Kweli and The New Danger are his best in my opinion.

I completely agree, except on the Mos Def thing. I thought Mos did an awesome job on the tracks he was featured on (that's coming from someone who's been a fan of his since 1999 or whenever the first time I heard "Definition" was, not one of these kids who checked him out after reruns of Chappelle's Show). Maybe he's becoming over saturated to you or something... which is pretty much what you already said. Maybe I should finish reading before commenting. XP
Anyway, I found this album to be lacking. The more I listened to it, the more I questioned why I was so in love with it on the first listen. I find myself skipping over more tracks than I listen to. The debut and Demon Days were, and are, far superior to Plastic Beach.

They have actually done more then Three CDS now! Some of them are a little hard to find, but one of my favorite songs of theirs comes from a lesser known CD they put out! & a few members have some awesome solo stuff! You'll hear more from these guys for sure! Maybe they will quit doing stuff as the GorillaZ for a while, but there's not doubt you will hear from the people who brought this group to life! They've worked with talented people in a few genres & some of the members have said that they love working with a diverse group of people! I wish the members good luck with whatever they do they are great people!~

gorillaz, demon days, and plastic beach were full albums. g sides, laika come home, and d sides were remix albums. i'm not sure you get the whole concept of gorillaz either, as there are only 2 permanent members.

Three guys really, but okay! Yeah...some guest are in their stuff more then once, like Rosie Wilson who is probably best known for being the female vocalist on "DARE" I don't know everything about these guys, but I do know a pretty good deal of info! Regarding the thing I said about a few of them having good solo stuff! Well...Aside from the main guys & their stuff (Including Alburn's new CD as a solo artist) The GorillaZ guest musicians that were not in established projects outside the GorillaZ now have CDs out! I probably could have been a little more clear about that part, because I can see where people would be a SLIGHT bit confused! The Remix stuff is cool! They actually tied in a full length CD to one of the special versions of one of their remix CDs, as it is a full length CD of new songs,I'd tend to consider it as another CD of there's,some might not though!GorillaZ Vs. Space Monkeys could in a way be called a CD of GorillaZ stuff too,as it really didn't have any real reworkings of any GorillaZ songs! So if yo factor in specialty stuff (some of which you aren't going to likely find at your local music shop!) They do have more then three CDs! I also think they had one called "BanannaZ" if I remember right ! Anyway...Cool group! Great songs!

no, more like two. get your facts straight if you're going to use so many exclamation points.
In the half-hour TV mockumentary Charts of Darkness, it was explicitly stated that Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett were behind the project. Albarn said "There could be fifty [people] here, but there's two."
do your research duuuude.

Hopefully it'll just be a long pause for the band, while the artists (non animated) move onto other projects for a while longer than last time.

Fair enough. In my eyes (and ears) they will never beat Demon Days for its sheer ambition... was a classic album the day after it was released.
