Rapper Gucci Mane was released from Georgia’s Fulton County jail this morning. The MC served six months for a year-long sentence he was handed for a probation violation last November.

Mane spoke at a press conference in Atlanta immediately following his release and announced the launch of a new record label and the release of his new album, The Appeal, slated for the end of the summer. Mane will also be quickly getting back on tour, with currently scheduled performances at New Jersey’s Hot 97 Summer Jam on June 6 and Altanta’s Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash on June 19— as well as a planned U.S. tour in July.

Mane told the press, “I have already begun to make positive strides towards the future. I have launched a new label, 1017 Brick Squad Records in affiliation with Asylum/ Warner Bros Records, and I am working with a new team. I am looking forward to getting back to business and to start making hits.”

Mane will be sitting down for his first official post-jail interview with us later this afternoon. Look for it on the MySpace Music homepage.
