One news story from the festival weekend, came from guns N' Roses sets at Reading and Leeds. Sounds like the events were just as strange as Download Festival in 2006, but this time the band is criticising the organisers.
From the article, it sounds like the band was late for both performances which resulted them running over the allocated time. This meant the festival organisers had to cut the power, leaving the band to start an acoustic session on stage.
"The scenes followed their appearance at Reading festival on Friday where the band had their set cut short by organisers after breaking a newly-extended curfew.
[...]
In between their performances Axl Rose had demanded the bosses of Reading and Leeds festival say sorry to fans at Reading for cutting their set short. "Newsbeat
Though on the article, other bands criticise Guns N' Roses for leaving fans waiting for the performance to start ""Actually they did it because they [the organisers] said if you're an hour late you won't get paid so they were 58 minutes late in Reading."-Newsbeat
Festival organisers stated they gave Guns N' Roses extra time on stage, but had to cut the power due to the licensing laws given to them by the local council. If too many residents complained about the music beating curfew it might be difficult to get permission for the festival in the next year.
