A group of fans disappointed by the last few Weezer albums are trying to collect $10m to get the band to split up. The leader of the group says they're tired of statements about a new album being 'better than Pinkerton' and wants to end the 'abusive relationship' fans have with Weezer.
"The band's drummer, Patrick Wilson, commented on Twitter: "If they can make it 20[million dollars]," he wrote, "we'll do the 'deluxe breakup.'"[...] Weezer's latest album, Hurley, may or may not have been named after a brand of clothing. It is out now."-Guardian

It'd be too late anyway, Weezer are always gonna be known as that silly jokey band now. If they had split after Pinkerton they would be remembered as one of the best bands of the 90s who had released 2 astonishingly good albums. Shame.
