Lady Gaga remains at the top of the music pop world after earning three honours at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2010 on Sunday evening at Caja Mágica in Madrid, Spain.

MTV viewers in Europe voted the 24-year-old best singer and best pop star, as well as awarding her best song honours for her music hit ‘Bad Romance.’

Two months ago the singer walked away with eight trophies at the US version of the MTV Video Music Awards and caused a furore with her dress made of slices of meat.

But this time, Lady Gaga’s sartorial choices were not an issue as she did not attend the award ceremony. Lady Gaga beamed her acceptance speech from Budapest, Hungary, where she was on tour.

She interrupted a live act in the Hungarian capital to convey by video link her delight at the crop of awards which just kept on coming and spotlighted her song “Bad Romance” as the year’s best.

“I wish so much that I could be there,” Lady Gaga said, before launching into a song for the MTV crowd in the Caja Magica venue in Madrid. “Get off my stage!” she shouted at the end.

The ceremony converted two of the Spanish capital’s most iconic landmarks into glittering venues from which to present its 2010 honors.

At the center of the Caja Magica hall a brilliantly illuminated hollow cube acted as a focal point for indoor acts while the Puerta de Alcala – once the location of the eastern entrance in the long disappeared city wall – provided an outdoor flavor to the show.
