Cosmo Plavix sings "Dorothy" (Perry Callas's blockbuster hit) at the Hyman Kaplan Motor Lounge in Detroit, 1962. Plavix's distinctive stylings give the standard a new vitality, although the crowd was expecting the pipe organ version. This rare footage came to us via "FilmBusters," a recent startup that retrieves obscure musical performance film and, after remastering the audio, transfers it to digital format. Note that Plavix received only $500 for this performance, although at the time that was a sizable amount.
