  So many of the songs they wrote and sang depicted events of their own lives. This is one of them. I believe June Carter wrote this after they parted ways when his addiction got the better of him... knowing how much she really loved him.

  Rose Of My Heart From American V. I always think of my parents when I hear this song. This was what I loved about Johnny Cash and June Carter. They found each other and no obstacles could keep them apart. That's how true love should be.

  That's what makes his songs so great. So many could identify with them. My dad identified with this song too because as a young man he had his struggles with alcohol that he beat.
